Chemical processing equipment includes any equipment used in the processing of raw materials obtained by mining, and agriculture among other supply sources, into materials and substances that are useful on their own, or in other industries. Even since we started to study matter and the changes that created the gases, liquids, and solids that made up our physical world, we have been fascinated with the idea of making entirely new substances. Much of the chemical industry can be described as engaged in the process of taking substances apart and putting the parts together again in different ways. Many of these new materials are vital to the industrialized world. Resources such as coal, petroleum, ores, plants, the sea, and the air yield raw materials that are turned into everything from metal alloys, detergents and dyes, paints, plastics, perfumes and flavors to fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides.
